Weekend Progress

Over the weekend, some good progress was made. The backscene was shortened in height and permenantly fixed, Controll panels and controllrs were mounted, they will be wired in within the next week.
A length of plastic cable conduit was bought to try out a fiddle yard cassette system, a post will soon follow on the results of a few test pieces I've just finished making.
Here's some pictures.

Fiddling

Today has been a very progressive day, went to B&Q to get plywood to build the fiddle yard, then to Conwy Valley Railway Museum & shop to get some track.
When I got home, the fiddle yard baseboard was built. The track hasn't been laid yet, I need to build another suporting trestle.
The controllers for the railway were delivered the other day. They are Gaugemaster UF panel mount single controllers, powered by a Gaugemaster 16v AC transformer.

This week's addtions

The layout is slowly getting ready for Warely. These two photographs are what i've done this week, a 1960s water tower and LWB Landy Platelayers vehicle.

On the workbench.

I had acquired a kato chassis from a old gentleman after cutting a tree down for him. The wheelbase was too short to make a 'funkey' so I decided to make a very quirky machine.
It's based on a Land Rover that came from the SBR to the Ffestiniog Railway's 'Quirks and Curiosity' Gala last year.
It's made from a modified Airfix kit. The trailer came with the kit, so a bogie was cut in half and used underneath.
It's meant to be a 'modern' platelayers vehicle.
