Only a week to go!

The first public appearance of Traeth Mawr is now less than a week away, I’ve removed the backboard to re-install a point motor that didn't work, so whilst the backs are off they are being painted. I've ran a train from one side to the other, and the a All Components 12 AC transformer has arrived in the post for the controller and points with a package from GEM model kits with 2 ffestiniog open wagons, 2 ffestiniog slate wagon (4 wagons) 3 Lynton and Barnstable open wagons and 2 ffestiniog Vans, now all I need to do is assemble them! On the picture is a row of scatter and a few odds and ands for scenic work!!

Airbrush and Trailer

Tuesday the airbrush that mum got me for my early birthday present arrived, it was on a special offer somewhere. I'm now waiting for some paint and thinners I’ve ordered to arrive! I'm also looking for a trailer to transport the layout (or pieces of), does anyone know of someone that is selling either a 7ft x 5ft utility trailer or a livestock trailer, I’m going to add some racks to hold the layout firmly. The trailer must also be in Wales or the West Midlands area :)

Assembling the backboard

Over the weekend I’ve been placing various bits and bobs over the layout, just to get a sense of how it will look. I've assembled the backboard which will be painted light blue. I've included pictures of the progress so far!

Massive progress over the weekend + layout for sale

Over the weekend I’ve been busy doing all kinds of things, I’ve painted the Harbor station board, made the Boston lodge engine shed/workshop, made the harbor wall out of foam board, made the wood pieces that go on top of the wall, started to make the Station building, made and painted the platforms. So, I’ve took a few pictures to post on here. I'm also getting rid of an layout I build 2 years ago, it's my first layout but I haven’t got room for 'Traeth Mawr' and 'Llan Nennawr' It will appear on eBay in a short while, after I’ve fixed a few things, it will be complete with buildings but without figures, vehicles and point motors. It will require 6 Peco above board point motors, I will wire it up so you will only need to pin them down, screw in the wires and it would then be ready. Perfect for a Childs first layout.

If anyone is interested in the layout, email me and you can have more pictures etc, huwejones@gmail.com
